Mac storage cleaner · macOS 15+

Clean your Mac.Know why.

Clean House shows your disk as a painted house and explains every file before it goes: who made it, when you last opened it, and whether it will come back.

Or install from Terminal. It checks the SHA-256 and skips the “can't be opened” prompt. Read the script.

  • Trash first
  • Undo anytime
  • Nothing leaves your Mac
Clean HouseOverview: every room of your Mac at a glance

Every file gets
a Why?

Other cleaners show a path and a size. Clean House reads facts your Mac already keeps, then makes one plain call: safe to clear, your call, or keep.

  1. Made byThe app that owns it, and whether that app is still installed.
  2. Last openedA real date from the file. Never a guess.
  3. Came fromThe website a download came from, as macOS recorded it.
  4. If removedRe-download, rebuild, or gone for good.
  5. Comes back?Caches that refill get a way to cap them instead.
  6. UndoGoes to the Trash. Put it back anytime.

Nothing is deleted.
Only moved.

  1. 01

    Tick

Ticking only marks a file. Nothing moves yet.

  2. 02

    Move to Trash

Each file is checked again right before it moves.

  3. 03

    Put back

Recently Cleared returns anything to where it was, until you empty the Trash.

System files are never touched. No account. No file names sent anywhere.

A house,
not a dashboard.

Five painted rooms, one job each. The sizes are real.

Storage room: folders as boxes on a wooden shelf, free space as an empty slot
01

Storage Shelves

Every big folder is a box on a shelf, sized by what it holds. The empty slot is your free space.

Clean room: a garage with labelled crates, a pegboard and a bin
02

Clean Garage

Crates sorted three ways: safe to clear, your projects, and look first. Tick one, see what goes.

Apps room: a bookcase with one book per installed app
03

Apps Bookcase

One book per app, as thick as the app and its data. Leftovers from removed apps wait in a box.

Memory room: jars filled to each app's memory use beside a pressure gauge
04

Memory Jars

Each app's memory, helpers counted, poured into a jar. Real memory pressure on the gauge.

Ports room: a desk with monitors showing listening ports by project
05

Ports & Projects Desk

Dev servers on the monitors, every listening port by name, with a stop button.

Good company.
A different idea.

Questions.

Can it delete something by mistake?

It never deletes. Files you pick move to the Trash after a final check, and Recently Cleared puts them back. System files are never offered.

Does anything leave my Mac?

No. Scans, rules and Why? cards run on your Mac. File names and paths are never uploaded. No account.

What does “look first” mean?

Clean House can't be sure you're done with it, so it shows you the facts instead of deciding for you.

Why Full Disk Access?

macOS hides some storage from apps. Full Disk Access lets Clean House count it. It's optional; without it you'll see where storage is hidden.

Is it free?

Yes. An optional one-time Pro ($4.99) is planned. No subscription.

Which Macs?

Any Mac on macOS 15 Sequoia or later.

Make room.
Know why.
